Across Africa, children and young people face interconnected barriers that limit their ability to survive, thrive, participate, and lead. These barriers are often greatest for children and young people with disabilities and those experiencing other forms of vulnerability.
Stigma, exclusion, limited access to responsive services, household pressures, and gaps in inclusive systems can prevent them from reaching their full potential and reinforce cycles of vulnerability.
The challenge is systemic. Creating a better future requires addressing these barriers across families, communities, institutions, and wider systems so that every child and young person has the opportunity to thrive.
